Tavren is a Cyborg Network field operative who has spent years traveling through isolated settlements, tracking raiders, investigating missing communities, and helping people who have little protection of their own.
But that isn’t the only reason he keeps moving.
Since his awakening eleven years ago, Tavren has also been searching for the one woman his systems were designed to recognize—his genetic mate.
He finally finds her at the gate of a struggling agricultural settlement.
Her name is Nola Brent.
And she is not waiting around for a cyborg to take charge of her life.

Nola has spent years keeping forty people alive. She repairs failing equipment, organizes food and water, settles arguments, and makes the decisions no one else wants to make. She has learned not to depend on anyone more than necessary.
Then Tavren arrives.
He is powerful enough to defend her settlement.
Skilled enough to repair the systems that are beginning to fail.
And absolutely certain that Nola is the woman he has searched for his entire existence.
There is only one problem.
Nola intends to make her own decisions.
Fortunately, Tavren has no interest in taking her authority away from her. He doesn’t want to replace her.
He wants to stand beside her.
And when a raider named Carden Rusk threatens to seize the settlement, Tavren and Nola have to learn very quickly whether trust can become partnership—and whether genetic recognition can grow into something much deeper.
Tavren Strike has many of the things I love writing into my Cyborg Universe stories:
protective cyborg hero, fated/genetic mates, a capable heroine, found family, a threatened settlement, action and danger, and a hero who has spent far too long waiting for the woman who finally gives him a home.
And yes, there is romance.
Quite a bit of it.
